ABOUT

MARUHAUS is a home and studio in Sanda City, Hyogo in Japan, renovated from my family home. Centred around photography, it is gradually opening up as a space for making and experimentation, exhibitions, workshops, and other activities.

The fourteen-sided house has long been known in the neighbourhood as the “round house”. Maru means “round” in Japanese.

MARUHAUS aims to create new connections between people and the local community through photography and art, where everyday life and creative practice can exist alongside one another.

MARUHAUSは、兵庫県三田市にある実家を改修した住まい兼アトリエです。
写真を中心とした制作や実験、展示、ワークショップなど、さまざまな活動の場としてひらいていきます。

14角形のこの家は、かつてから近所で「丸い家」と呼ばれてきました。
日々の暮らしと制作がゆるやかにつながり、写真やアートを介して、人や地域との新しい関係が生まれることを目指します。
